Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a sport more clearly, whether they are new to it or have followed it for years. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What we are looking for
Good contributions explain a specific, lasting feature of sport: a rule that changes how play works, a role that is easy to misread, a tactical choice, a format comparison or a useful way to follow a match. We favour subjects that can be handled accurately without relying on breaking news, personal access or specialist advice.
Make the pitch concrete
Tell us the central question, the reader who would benefit and the main idea your piece will explain. Include a working title, a short outline and any relevant experience or samples you choose to share. Show how your approach differs from a broad introduction or a list of jargon.
Submitting a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option for a pitch. A proposal is not a commission, and we may ask for clarification before deciding whether it fits. Please do not send a complete article unless we have requested one.
