Editorial policy
Our explanations should make sport easier to follow without overstating what a rule, tactic or example can tell you. We aim to be clear about context, careful with claims and open about how the material is presented.
Accuracy and context
We check explanations against appropriate source material and take care to distinguish a formal rule from a common practice or a tactical interpretation. Rules and competition formats can change, so articles are written with their scope in mind. When an explanation depends on a particular version of a rule or setting, we say so rather than implying it applies everywhere.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader understanding. A commercial relationship does not determine what we conclude about a game, product or sporting idea. We do not present a partner's preferred message as independent editorial judgement.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or unclear explanation, contact us with the article title, the passage and the reason for your concern. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making the change clear where the nature of the correction calls for it.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, we label them and do not use them as evidence of a real match, person or event.
